Though some callers who will not or do not identify themselves are harmless, you won't know that until you know who they are. There is no point in trying to find the information using the traditional, bulky phone directories because cell-phone numbers and private numbers are not listed there.
Some searches may not give you much, but they may tell you if a number is landline or mobile. It use to be that you would get a strange hang up or midnight caller only at home, but now even cell phone users are getting these kinds of problems. Search by address, just enter the address, city or zip code, and the state.
Although your first defense for this kind of problem is to report the calls to the authorities, knowing who the caller is, will help you report more information about the caller. It is also completely legal and fully confidential. That doesn't mean that putting together a reverse cell and or land line directory is impossible.
So, get out there and find it. Don't forget, the reverse white pages is a great way to get in touch with old friends, family members, or find out the identity of an unknown caller.
